Grands Cafés Forest

Sustainability, environmental awareness, anti-waste, corporate social responsibility … these are no longer empty words for the hospitality industry. As a hospitality group, we realize that even for us anno 2024, this can no longer be dismissed.

Every day we strive for energy efficiency, less waste, less plastic, better sorting and recycling. The number of different containers at the back of the kitchen is growing: we sort to the maximum. Local and seasonal products are given every opportunity, so that we keep the food chain as short as possible. When purchasing new appliances and machines, we focus on energy- and water-saving labels.

But we want to go even further and make an additional contribution. Within the framework of the European Green deal (= Europe CO2 neutral by 2050 and the planting of 3 billion additional trees by 2030), we have decided to plant a Grands Cafés forest, and on our own soil.

In cooperation with Goforest and Klimaat@mb(r)assadeur Koen Meuwissen, the Grands Cafés group is going to plant 1000 trees a year, over a period of 5 years. More specifically in the village of Grune in the province of Luxembourg (https://impact.gofamily.be/en/partners/grands-cafs-groep). In this way, in the long term, we will remove 875 tons of CO2 from the air!

We can even surpass that objective…. With the help of our customers. Great right? Will you join us? For only 6.99 euros we plant your tree in our forest, in real life, on a real terrain in Belgium.
